meet   teddy

AUTHOR + TEACHER

Born in Houston, Texas, Teddy Heard Orr is a bible study leader, writer and retreat speaker, teaching God’s word for more than 30 years. Her faith heritage is richly generational with both parents and grandparents serving in Christian ministry. Teddy received a Communications degree from Baylor University and served as a Guardian ad Litem for abused children in Juvenile Court in Tennessee and North Carolina. She served as a family crisis counselor and the Chairman of the Children’s Law Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Teddy worked in the country music business and as an entertainment reporter for both CBS-Nashville and NBC-Charlotte. Her TV interviews with Garth Brooks, Tony Bennett, Dennis Quaid, Dolly Parton and Jay Leno have been seen in all 50 states. Teddy draws from all her life’s experiences to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ with a fresh, dynamic approach to faith. She started “Living the Balanced Life Ministry” in 2017, writing bible studies for Christian Life Studies in Houston (St. Martin’s Church) and other women’s bible study groups all over the United States.

Teddy teaches a bible study in Boerne, Texas where she lives with her husband, David. Teddy and David have two grown children. Son Ryan, who is married to Kim, are blessed with three children, Brennan, Austin and Clayton. Daughter Lynden works and lives in Los Angeles.
